What you eat determines how you perform. Here's the complete guide to eating like a champion.

Fueling Victory: Nutrition for Peak Performance

You can't out-train a bad diet. After years of trial and error, I've learned that nutrition is just as important as any technique in my arsenal.

The Foundation

My nutrition philosophy is simple: eat to perform, recover, and maintain optimal body composition. Every meal has a purpose.

Macronutrient Breakdown:

**Protein**: 1.2g per pound of body weight
**Carbohydrates**: Timed around training
**Fats**: 25-30% of total calories

Training Day Nutrition

Pre-Training (2 hours before):
Oatmeal with berries and honey
Black coffee
Plenty of water
During Training:
Electrolyte drink for sessions over 90 minutes
BCAAs for longer sessions
Post-Training (within 30 minutes):
Protein shake with banana
Fast-digesting carbs to replenish glycogen

Sample Daily Menu

Breakfast:
4 whole eggs + 2 egg whites
Spinach and mushroom omelet
1 cup oatmeal with blueberries
Green tea
Mid-Morning:
Protein smoothie (whey, banana, almond butter)
Lunch:
8oz grilled chicken breast
1.5 cups jasmine rice
Mixed vegetables
Avocado
Pre-Training:
Apple with almond butter
Black coffee
Post-Training:
Protein shake with banana
Dinner:
8oz salmon or lean beef
Sweet potato
Large salad with olive oil dressing
Before Bed:
Casein protein or Greek yogurt with nuts

Hydration Protocol

Water intake is crucial:

1 gallon minimum daily
Extra 16-20oz per hour of training
Electrolyte replacement during intense sessions

Supplements

I keep it simple:

**Whey protein**: Convenience and quality
**Creatine**: 5g daily for power output
**Vitamin D3**: Especially important for fighters
**Omega-3**: For recovery and brain health
**Magnesium**: Better sleep and recovery

Cut vs. Bulk

Cutting Weight:
Reduce carbs, maintain protein
Increase cardio gradually
Never crash diet—it kills performance
Building Muscle:
Slight caloric surplus
Focus on compound movements
Prioritize sleep and recovery

Remember: consistency beats perfection. It's better to follow a good plan 90% of the time than a perfect plan 50% of the time.

You are what you eat, so eat like a champion.
